Mathematica has been used to create a 16-km cell vector field for the study area. Each arrow has an azimuth that indicates the direction water would flow and a length that indicates the slope. Note how drainage in the study area moves toward the Central Valley and away from the mountains. At this resolution, the Central Valley appears to have no outlet.
