From the 150 U.S. federal nominations submitted, the 1-KM Project was one of 26 projects chosen as models for the U.S. federal information technology community. Specifically, the 1-KM Project was selected for it's information systems technology leadership, improving service to the public, and allowing U.S. federal agencies to meet their mission requirements easier and at a reduced cost. The Master of Ceremonies for the presentation was Timothy Clark, editor for the Government Executive Magazine. Franklin Reeder, Assistant Director for General Management in the Office of Management and Budget was the keynote speaker and awards presenter. The panel of judges was composed of Jack Arthur, OMB; Cynthia Kendall, DOD; Robert Chartrand, Congressional Research Service (retired); Robert Woods, Veterans Administration; and Timothy Clark, Government Executive Magazine. A poster describing the 1-KM Project was also set up all day to allow interested persons a chance to ask questions about the project. |
